Just an update!!!
April 13th, 2008Well I finally have time to set down and write an update on whats been going on at the Pure Evil shop.
In the body shop part of the shop we completed two GT mustangs builds. One belonging to Mike Jones of Malden, Mo., the other belonging to Guastavo of Mississippi. We also started a new project for Clyde in Bernie….. it is a 1956 Ford pickup, that we will be painting baby blue. Right now in the booth is a Lincoln Town Car getting a fender fixed that will be done this week.
On the mechanical side of the shop…. wow have we been swamped….
On the lift right now we have Matt’s 2004 srt4 from Cape Girardeau, MO, we are installing new fuel system complete up to injectors, new boost controller, mounts, refurbishing the GT3076 turbo upgrade, along with the installation of a new ACT Clutch. This car should be around the 400 horse mark on pump gas when i finish the tune on it.
Second we have Kevin’s 1998 Dodge Neon RT that we are in the middle of the engine build up…. Reeve’s Racing of Dexter, completed the ferrea valve install on the head for us and gave it a look over…. meanwhile eagle rods and wiseco pistons all installed in house completed the block build up with arp studs mounting everything together. This owner is looking to get at least 350 to the wheels on this setup with the hahn turbo kit that was installed late last year…..
Also on the agenda 3000gt twin turbo vr4 from Cape also, this car come in with several problems that were located and fixed here in the shop… Once we got the issues solved the timing belt adjuster broke yet again on this car. This being the second time in two years with only 10000 miles put on this engine….. So we will R and R the engine to make sure it didnt bend any valves and get everything going on this car hopefully in the next few weeks.
Now on to the fun stuff of the shop…. the race season and happenings….
Congrats to BJ for winning the first King of the Street Competition at Benton, ILL this past weekend. Drove his subie to victory despite the bent second gear shift fork.
Tony in his 179000 mile stock motor turbo honda with complete interior and on drag radials ran his car to his best 8.67 this past friday and this was only on 13 psi…. We have the next step for this car in the shop and once installed this car should easily be in the 8.20 range…. Not bad for a 3100 pound car that dynoed 249 horse and 279 tor..
I would like to also give a congrats to Cook from Cape who ran his b20 swapped turboed civic to a 7.97 @ 86 mph. It only dynoed 230 horse… That is amazing he is getting the car in the sevens…. Awesome job and very glad to be doing business with him.
As far as the shop car goes… the parts have all been ordered and am awaiting arrival. And for those wanting to know all here you go…. this is what is going in the SRT this month.
